The present research investigates the allegedly trade-off between inequality and GHG-emissions reduction on a world-wide level. Using various inequality measures (wealth, income, pre-tax, post-tax), databases and estimation techniques (quantile regression, IO-Analysis, etc.) we aim to uncover ways of joint inequality and emission reduction while highlighting the intertwined challenges of this agenda within the global framework of production. A comprehensive analysis of this topic can shed new light on the opportunities and challenges faced by policy makers striving to achieve the SDGs and a just transition in countries all around the world.
