Call for papers for the 18th Colloquium of Theoretical and Quantitative Geography

18th Colloquium of Theoretical and Quantitative Geography

Paris, September 5th-9th 2013

The themes and sessions of the Colloquium, as usual since 1978, will emerge from the topics of your presentations. A few themes are listed below as a reminder of previous areas of interest and hot topics of the moment in geographical research:

– Epistemological issues and theory in geography
– Spatial interaction and networks
– Space-time processes, historical geography, geo-history, geo-archaeology
– Urban dynamics
– Economic geography, finance and globalization
– Environmental management and risk analysis
– Geographical issues in Energy and Green Economy
– Climate Change and geography
– Health geography and epidemiology
– Cellular automata, multi-agent systems and multi-level spatial modeling
– Fractals and scaling laws in complex spatial systems
– Network dynamics
– Exploratory methods for spatial big data analysis
– New Geovisualization tools
– Spatial data analysis and geostatistics in GIS
– Spatial decision support systems
– Spatially referenced heterogeneous data streams
– Innovative and inter-disciplinary methods for spatial data
– Object Tracking and RFIDs
– Volunteered Geographic Information
– Geosensor Networks

Publication

All abstracts will be printed and distributed before the colloquium. Selected papers will be published after the Colloquium in a volume of proceedings and special issues of international journals

The first call for papers is below and will be regularly updated on the site http://S4.parisgeo.cnrs.fr. Proposals of special sessions are welcome. Please note the following important dates:

Special sessions proposal: September 15th, 2012 (please precise the expected number of presentations)
– Abstract submission (3.000 characters and spaces max*): before March 15th, 2013
– Acceptance notification: before April 15th, 2013
– Full paper submission (40.000 characters and spaces max*): before June 15th, 2013
– Conference Registration: from April 15th to July 15th 2013
– Reduced fee until May 30th 2013
– Welcome reception: Thursday September 5th, 2013
– Paper sessions: September 6th to 9th, 2013
– Conference dinner: September 7th
– Departure: September 9th afternoon
