Call for papers – 18th European Colloquium of Theoretical and Quantitative Geography

The 18th European Colloquium in Theoretical and Quantitative Geography (ECTQG) will take place from September 5th to 9th 2013 at the Belambra Business Center, 50 km from Paris, bordering the royal town of Dourdan.

The past decade has seen a growing interest for a host of health-related issues in theoretical and quantitative geography. Analyzing spatial distribution of health outcomes, unequal access to health resources or spatial logics involved in health dynamics require notably to combine various temporal and geographical scales and to account for emergent mobility patterns.

Covering a deliberately wide range of ways to conceptualize and operationalize place in health geography, this special session of ECTQG 2013 could be a moment to debate around innovative concepts, methods (such agent-based modeling or multilevel models) and/or data (e.g. issued from GPS or social networks). We then encourage submissions dealing with various health/healthcare topics with the common feature of emphasizing conceptual and/or methodological aspects.
Please submit your abstract (max 3000 characters) to Vincent Laperrière and Julie Vallée (via email) and to the conference organizers (ectqg2013parisgeo.cnrs.fr) by the 15th March 2013.
