Research Workshop 5 : The living environment and its territorial and environmental challenges

Analysing the links between living matter (flora and fauna) and territories around questions at the juncture of ecological functioning and social imperatives. Assessing the state of biodiversity (what indicators ?), analysing the manner in which knowledge is appropriated between scientific and local stakeholders for more participative environmental policies.
Understanding environmental changes (climatic, erosion of biodiversity, landscape dynamics, etc.) based on evaluation (collaboration with the environmental sciences) of their ecological and social impacts (link with workshop 6). Devising standardised and reproducible protocols to study living matter as a complex and dynamic system resulting from social and natural processes.
