Research Cross-disciplinary component 3. Methodological issues and reflexivity in scientific approaches
Inter-disciplinarity – which underpins LADYSS’s research – is all about identifying obstacles to scientific dialogue and collectively building ways to get beyond these. By providing room for dialogue between quantitative and qualitative approaches and between social and environmental issues, we flesh out the issues that LADYSS has grappled with historically. Thence, cross-disciplinary component 3 will analyse the relationship between science and society (how to meet the demand for operational tools emanating from governments, financiers, civil society and business ?) ; the production of data, building a reference library and defining indicators ; modelling and methodological, epistemological and political challenges ; communication and transmission of scientific know-how, co-productions that bring together stakeholders and researchers, different ways of appropriating knowledge.
