L’ORE Draix

Ladyss is one of the laboratories in the Observatory of Environmental Research – Draix (ORE Draix, formerly Scientific Interest Group Draix) which is consecrated to the study of hydrological processes and erosion in mountain areas.

It is supported by the ministry delegated to Research and New Technologies, the National Institute of Sciences of the Universe (INSU), and the Rhone-Alps region. It is run by Cemagref.

Its objectives are :

  • to improve the prediction of responses of small mountain catchment areas to climate forcing (precipitation and temperature),
  • to identify the determining factors of responses, in particular to extreme phenomena (water debits and transport of solids),
  • to quantify the respective roles of these factors and the processes associated with them..

Ladyss participates in research committed to the following topics : vegetation and erosion, landscape and sustainable development and regionalisation.
