Ladyss is one of the laboratories in the “Climate- Environment- Society” scientific interest group which encourages, supports and co-ordinates interdisciplinary research on climate change and its impacts on the environment and society.
It is based on the expertise of about fifteen research laboratories in the Île-de-France working mainly in the fields of climatology, hydrology, ecology, health, and human and social sciences. The founding members were CNRS, CEA, UVSQ, UMPC, the Polytechnical School and ADEME.
One of the major roles of the Climate-Environment-Society scientific interest group is the financial support of projects aimed towards interdisciplinary research on climate change and its impacts. This support is given via invitations for applications which result in the selection of projects with an interdisciplinary dimension oriented around topics relevant to the consortium. Since its creation Ladyss has been involved in 3 projects financed by the Climate Scientific Interest Group.
The Climate Scientific Interest Group organises scientific meetings regularly, to encourage discussion and to contribute to the production of new ideas. These events favour collective thought and the understanding of interdisciplinary concepts.
