GIS CIST

Ladyss is one of the research teams which initiated the scientific interest group known as “The International College of Territorial Sciences” (GIS CIST) whose objective is to contribute to the definition and organisation of this disciplinary field, in France and at the International, and notably European scale.
This Scientific interest group is comprised of the three founding partners : the University of Paris 1, the University of Paris, Diderot and the CNRS, and also partner institutes, demonstrating the importance of the applied dimension of territorial sciences : the Datar, the IAU-IF and the ADEME, combined with the INED.

Its objective is to bring together research units dedicated to territories in the Parisian region, to reinforce the national network of units composed by the GIS, to reinforce their co-operation (topics, methodologies, and equipment and data bases, replies to invitations to tender, events disseminating research, etc.) and the development of the research-training interfaces (common on line courses, participation in the Digital Thematic University, the International Master of Territorial Sciences associating the Parisian universities but also those of Besançon, Lausanne, Luxembourg, Louvain-la-Neuve, Metz, Trier, etc.).

The permanent team comprises :
- Pierre Beckouche, Director, Professor of Geography (Ladyss, University of Paris 1)
-  Claude Grasland, Deputy director, Professor of Geography (University of Paris Diderot)
-  Chloé Didelon, Responsible for institutional development
-  Timothée Giraud, Data base & Geomatic engineer
-  Marta Severo, Responsible for communication and media
